Dr Vinay Jadhav clarifies the role of water in weight loss

Does Water Help in Weight Loss?

Dr Vinay Jadhav says that people have so many misconceptions about weight loss that it is appalling! According to Dr Vinay Jadhav water has been given undue importance in weight loss programs. There are many weight loss programs out there which claim that drinking more water than you usually do will help you shed those extra pounds. The important questions is, is there any truth to these claims? Dr Vinay Jadhav laughs this one out. He says drinking more water will not make any miracles happen for your weight.

Dr Vinay Jadhav states that the body needs to form around 900 ml of urine every day to throw out any toxins present in the body. Dr Vinay Jadhav further elaborates that when you consider the water loss caused through a natural metabolic activity like sweating, your body needs around 2 litres of water per day. This amount can vary during hot summers or humid weather conditions. Any water intake beyond this will do nothing different for your body.

Dr Vinay Jadhav states that most weight loss diet propagate the idea in the minds of people that by drinking 8 glasses or more of water per day will result in speedy weight loss. Water has nothing to do with weight loss but if you keep your body enough hydrated, you will tend to stop overeating. Hydration helps your body function better, you feel active and ready to take on physical work at any time. The toxins which the water takes out from your body are also an advantage, but Dr Vinay Jadhav stresses on the fact that water has nothing to do with weight loss. He says that one must not torture oneself by drinking a lot more water than expected or needed.

According to Dr Vinay Jadhav, water is the best fluid to keep the body hydrated. Lime water with little sugar and commen salt is also good options to keep the body hydrated. Dr Vinay Jadhav also explains that many people misunderstand their thirst for hunger. When this happens, they tend to over-eat. To avoid this, Dr Vinay Jadhav suggests that if you feel like having a small snack in the afternoons or evenings or while you are traveling or commuting, first drink a glass of water. If you feel the same after over thirty minutes, then eat something. This way the body can retain its fluids and you don’t overeat for any reason.

Dr Vinay Jadhav says that this may seem a bad news for thousands of dieters out there but actually this will help them with following their weight loss diets in a better way. Yes, drinking enough water will help you maintain your weight loss program without any issues. Dr Vinay Jadhav thinks that it makes a difference to the body if you detoxify it and hydrate it. Watermelons, because of their water content are eaten by people on diet. But somehow eating a lot of watermelon will not help you lose weight, as that is too much excess sugars, which one consumes unknowingly attributing water melon as water. A balanced diet is what you need to achieve good results.

Dr Vinay Jadhav further adds that apart from hydrating the body, water also helps in lubricating the joints and regulating the body temperature.

Dr Vinay Jadhav says that if you do not change the habits like untimely food consumption, nothing can help you lose weight. The best advantage of drinking more water will be a less possibility to drink thosde items which may harm your body in the long run. It is necessary to however understand that over hydration of the body is also not good and may create problems in your metabolism.

Kidneys control the amount of water that the body excretes along with the salts and other solutes. This happens when the kidneys sieve the blood through their tubules. When you drink a lot of water at once with a small time difference, the kidneys cannot flush this water out fast enough. This causes the blood to get waterlogged. Now when this happens, the excess water runs to regions where there is a high concentration of salts and other dissolved substance and thus enters the cells. The cells inflate as they make room for the excess water.

Since most cells are embedded in flexible tissues like fats and muscles, they are able to accommodate the water but this is not possible for the neuron, the brain cells. When the brain cells get tightly packed in the skull, they have to divide all the space they have in there with blood and the cerebrospinal fluid. But the place is almost negligible, thus causing swelling in the brain. This swelling can result in seizures, coma, respiratory arrest and even death in those who have medical conditions causing limited Urine formation.

Thus Dr Vinay Jadhav says that people should tend to understand the repercussions of wild myths like drinking water can cause weight-loss. It is abundantly clear that if you keep on drinking water even if you are not thirsty, just for the sake of losing weight, you may end up getting water intoxication, brain swelling and you won’t lose any weight. The natural metabolism which helps you get rid of water through sweating, urination, excretion and breath should be maintained by drinking healthy proportions of water and not obsessing over its consumption.
