Dr Vinay Jadhav talks about all the hoopla surrounding size zero

6 reasons why size zero is a big zero

When a popular Indian actress achieved the size zero, many touted it to be a success, many an effort to raise star rating and endorsements. Dr Vinay
Jadhav states that the size zero trend went viral after she flaunted her skinny body, ready to wear the smallest of wardrobe sizes with ease. Girls across the country dreamed of having as size zero body, models had to raise their weight standards to a new low and everything just went berserk, thanks to the size zero craze. Dr Vinay Jadhav states that size zero is a shameful form for the body, it looks closely anorexic, making the face look pale and weak. Is this the kind of beauty preferred over robust, athletic and healthy women? If yes, then is the world doomed? If no, then why do women subject themselves to something so horrific?

The size zero figure 34-24-34 was largely adopted by models across the world until slowly the consequences of such attempts started showing on their bodies. Dr Vinay Jadhav tells that most models were suffering from anorexia, bulimia, and cocaine or alcohol addiction to cope with their diets. Their diets included drinking juice as much as a cotton ball would soak between ramp breaks. Their bodies looked frail and pale as they walked the ramp in perfect attires but they were projected as epitome of beauty. Dr Vinay Jadhav says it is very unfortunate for the world to have such a weight stigma over healthy and fit bodies.

“A different approach towards obesity & weight management is needed.”- Dr Vinay Jadhav

Dr Vinay Jadhav is a famous health consultant, fitness coach and qualified doctor with an extensive knowledge of obesity and nutrition. He has been one of the many doctors who have worked towards developing a different perspective to deal with the obesity issues that affect a huge population across the world. According to Dr Vinay Jadhav, the world gives a lot of importance to diseases and disorders but fail to do the same for obesity. He states that obesity has serious consequences if not taken seriously. The mentality that obese people have towards their health that they can never lose weight or they were made this way by God, needs to change. Obese people need to accept that even for them it is not impossible to lose weight, if a right weight management program is chosen. Dr Vinay Jadhav further discusses how actually the body maintains its weight and how weight loss actually occurs.

Various studies have been conducted to know the functioning of the body and how the body maintains weight, puts on weight, how the body uses the energy. Dr Vinay Jadhav states that when we look into the study of physiological and biochemical structure of the body, we see that energy is obtained through the food we consume through the Kreb’s cycle. This means that the fat and glucose in the food is burned by the Kreb’s cycle. This reaction starts with two chemicals- Acetyl Co A and oxalo acetic acid. Acetyl Co A comes from glucose and fatty acids while oxalo acetic acid is found to be just a catalyst in the reaction. If there is a reduction in the oxalo acetic acid, it causes a hindrance with the Kreb’s cycle. This hindrance in turn causes the accumulation of fats since they are not burnt.
